Well I'm back from Maui and I have an insane amount of pics to share. I won't share them all (that torture is for my facebook friends) but I will break some out into a couple of posts for you.
Pre-Maui Prep
The day before Maui was spent eating all the fresh produce in the house:
That is a bowl full of noodles, zucchini, greens, mushrooms, heirloom tomatoes and whatever else I could find.
I also finally finished Marie's birthday scarf to give to her on the way to the airport:
Because every girl needs a new scarf for Maui, right?
We woke up early the next morning to catch the plane. I spotted this awesomely ridiculous article in Marie's copy of Self Magazine:
Yes ladies, pumpkins are not just for Halloween - use them to get buff! This seems like a sensible idea, doesn't it?
Maui
Anywhoo, a sedative and 5 hour flight later, we were in Maui! We checked into our room - check out this great little garden right outside our balcony:
and immediately walked down to the beach before it got dark:
This little beach was literally a block away from our room. How lucky can we get? After a bit of playing in the sand, we realized we were STARVING. So we headed to a nearby sushi restaurant.
No food pics here, it was scarfed down too fast. But I did get that drink pic (yummy lychee martini). We then stumbled drunkenly thru the grocery store in search of breakfast items and boxes of wine (we travel in style).
The next morning, my tummy was in need of a little help from both the alcohol and fish (which I usually only eat on special occasions).
Mmmm....tofu scramble, toast with guac and fresh papaya. So freaking delicious.
We then got some more great beach time! This time in Lahaina and Kanapali.
Well I guess that's enough pics for now right? More to come later!

I've been kind of lost...gazing at your beautiful photos of Maui, your friends, and the happy unforgettable moments. I almost feel like a relative, sharing the good times, and the joy. You are a remarkable young Mom, with 2 beautiful children, and a blessed life! Thank you for letting me peek into your little world, filled with magic!
ReplyDeleteThanks Elisabeth, you are so very kind! That comment really made me smile.
